Hardwick Hall, Derbyshire

The National Trust’s Hardwick Hall, Derbyshire, is an Elizabethan country house created by Bess of Hardwick in the 1500s. The manson was built to impress, with some enormous rooms. They contain rich tapestries, fine furniture, imposing portraits and evidence that Bess was someone with money and power.
