Chartwell: Family home and garden of Sir Winston Churchill

Churchill is both a celebrated and contested figure, known for his leadership during the Second World War. Chartwell was the much-loved Churchill family home from 1922. It’s hillside gardens reflect Sir Winston’s love of landscape and nature. They include the lakes he created and the kitchen garden. Beyond the gardens, there is an expanse of woodland with looped trails and natural play areas. It is in the care of the National Trust.
